To Henry David Thoreau

To Henry David Thoreau:

Who never married and that had no children.
We--and those who admire and extend your works--are your children.

Who never went to church,
but made me (us) go to church because of your words.

Who never drank wine,
but your words could become wines.

Who never ate flesh,
but you were equipped with most adapted and serviceable body, firmly built, with strong, serious blue eyes, strong hands.

Who never knew the use of tobacco,
and that I (we) agree with you on that.

I wonder...
who is like you, who never married and had no children,
but has so many children who admire and extend his works?

who never went to church,
but made us go to church because of his words

whom his words could become wines

whom equipped with most adapted and serviceable body, firmly built, with strong, serious blue eyes, strong hands

whom never knew the use of tobacco,
and that we agree with him.
