David and Eagle

“You don’t seem to like doing something for God,” Rev. Whitehart gave a short pause before continued. “David, I want to show you something.” Then David followed the pastor to a hill overlooking to the sea.

The pastor pointed to a bird.

“What is that?” he asked David.

“It’s an eagle. She’s caught a salmon.”

“Who’s the salmon for?”

“It’s for the babies,” David answered.

“What will she get in return?”

“Nothing, but her babies will live.”

The pastor turned to face David. “The eagle flies all the way to catch a salmon far in the sea, only out of love for her babies. You should do that for God. Achieve goals for God, and don’t expect anything in return. Do it out of your love for Him.”
